Woods will issue More Strange, the deluxe edition of their 2020 album Strange To Explain via Woodsist Records on digital services July 23. Strange To Explain [More Strange (Deluxe Edition)] pairs the original LP with five bonus tracks, including new single “Waiting Around For A New Me.”

The bonus tracks were recorded at the same sessions at Panoramic House in Stinson Beach, California that yielded Strange To Explain. Both “Waiting Around For A New Me” and “Nickels & Dimes” are described as singles with “Daylight Push” and “Sun Jammer” noted as outtakes and “Be There Still” an alternate take from the version found on the original 2020 LP.

Woods’ co-founders Jeremy Earl and Jarvis Taveniere created Strange To Explain after working with David Berman on the self-titled 2019 Purple Mountains album. Berman died by suicide just weeks after the release of Purple Mountains. The 11th Woods studio album also followed Taveniere’s move from New York to California and the birth of Earl’s first child. “Those first few months or first year of having a newborn kind of put me in a dreamlike state,” Earl explained to NPR’s Weekend Edition. “Starting to write the record was an escape for me from my everyday reality and anxieties.”
