Stream Woods Surprise EP ‘Five More Flowers’
The record was captured during the same sessions for Woods’ 2023 LP, Perennial.

Woods shared a surprise EP, Five More Flowers, today via their Woodsist label. The record was captured during the sessions that yielded Woods’ 2023 full-length album, Perennial.
Both the LP and new EP grew out of guitar, keyboard and drum loops by Woods’ Jeremy Earl, “a form of winter night meditation that evolved into an unexplored mode of collaborative songwriting,” as per a press release.
“I found myself in the studio at night taking a totally different approach and not really trying to write an album or anything, and it was really fun,” Earl told Aquarium Drunkard on the sessions that produced Perennial/Five More Flowers.

Jeremy Earl and his bandmates, Jarvis Taveniere and John Andrews, then continued to round out the album at Earl’s home studio in New York before switching coasts and convening at the picturesque Panoramic House studio in Stinson Beach, California, where they recorded 2020’s Strange To Explain.
