March is Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day occurred last week. In recognition of both, Spotify launched the EQUAL hub in an effort to amplify the work of female artists throughout the month of March and beyond.

While “female” and “woman” are emphatically not genres of music, until there is true equality in opportunity, pay and respect across all aspects of the industry, support is needed for Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day as much now as it has ever been. This edition of Saturday Stream presents a series playlists and more curated for WHM and IWD.

Spotify also launched special episodes of WOMN, a new music and talk show centered on women’s issues. Guests include DJ TOKiMONSTA, actor and content creator Jenny Lorenzo, Spotify’s Dope Labs hosts Titi Shodiya and Zakiya Whatley, singer-songwriter Celeste, journalist Imara Jones and others.
