William Tyler Performs National Anthem Before Durham Bulls Game

Last night, the Durham Bulls Minor League Baseball team hosted Merge Records Night at Durham Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina. The evening included walk-up music by artists on the roster of the local independent record label, as well as performance of the National Anthem by guitarist William Tyler.

In addition to Bulls batters taking the plate to songs by the likes of M. Ward, Bob Mould, Will Butler and Superchunk, the ceremonial first pitch was thrown by The Mountain Goats frontman John Darnielle. The Bulls beat the visiting Norfolk Tides 6 – 2.
