Wilco To Perform ‘Being There’ In Its Entirety At Solid Sound Festival

Next month, rockers Wilco will both headline and curate the Solid Sound Festival at MASS MoCA in North Adams, Massachusetts. The festival spans June 23 – 25 and as reported, the band recently announced they will perform one of their studio albums in its entirety at the festival and let fans decide which LP it will be. Wilco has just announced the winning album.
Jeff Tweedy & Co. will perform their sophomore studio album, 1996’s Being There, on the opening night of the event – Friday, June 23. Being There features a mix of live staples and rarities and won out in fan voting. Seven tracks off Being There haven’t been performed since 2015. “What’s The World Got In Store” was last played on December 9, 2014; while “Someone Else’s Song,” “Why Would You Wanna Live” and “Dreamer In My Dreams” have been shelved since December 11, 2014. Wilco hasn’t performed “Outta Mind (Outta Sight)” since June 26, 2015; “Hotel Arizona” since July 3, 2015 and “Kingpin” since September 30, 2015.
Television, Kurt Vile and the Violators, Robert Glasper Experiment, Dawn of Midi, Dave Alvin and Phil Alvin with the Guilty Ones, Kevin Morby, Joan Shelley, Big Thief, Peter Wolf & the Midnight Travelers, Deep Sea Diver, Jeff Parker Trio, The Shaggs and Max Hatt/Edda Glass are among the other acts that will perform at Solid Sound as well as a host of Wilco side projects.
