Wilco Covers Neil Young With Members Of Low In St. Paul
By Nate Todd Nov 23, 2019 • 9:18 am PST
Wilco kicked off a three-night tour-ending run at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul on Friday night. The band delivered a Neil Young cover with members of Low, who opened up the show, to close out the evening.
Wilco got things underway with “Bright Leaves” from their 2019 album Ode To Joy. The set included “Handshake Drugs,” “Side With The Seeds,” “Impossible Germany” and “I’m The Man Who Loves You” among others. Wilco closed out the set with “Misunderstood.”
The band reemerged for a three-song encore of “California Stars” and “The Late Greats.” Wilco would then return to their rendition of Young’s “Cinnamon Girl” — a song Wilco has performed with membes of My Morning Jacket — this time with Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker of Low from Duluth, Minnesota, to close out the night.
