Widespread Panic Welcomes Jesse Aycock In Kansas City
By Scott Bernstein Jun 23, 2016 • 8:00 am PDT
On Wednesday night Widespread Panic brought their summer tour to the scenic Starlight Theater in Kansas City, Missouri. The band was joined by ace lap steel guitarist Jesse Aycock for a large portion of the evening’s second set.
Tulsa native Jesse Aycock is a member of Hard Working Americans, a group which features Widespread Panic bassist Dave Schools and drummer Duane Trucks. Aycock emerged towards the middle of the second set to add lap steel to “Big Wooly Mammoth,” “Stop-Go,” “Fishwater” and “Sell Sell.” Otherwise, last night’s show was heavy on tour debuts as Panic only played three songs last night they had performed earlier in the now five-show-old tour.
Next, Widespread Panic heads to Red Rocks for a three-night stand that spans Friday through Sunday. Live webcasts are available via nugs.tv.
