Widespread Panic Shares Official Video Of 2015 Halloween Show In Asheville

Widespread Panic celebrated Halloween with three shows in Las Vegas last weekend. Today the band has shared a treat with their fans in the form of professionally-shot video of their complete Halloween performance in Asheville, North Carolina in 2015.
The US Cellular Center was transported to Mayberry two years ago as the members of Panic dressed up as characters from The Andy Griffith Show. The concert saw WSP debut a total of seven new covers, bust out a pair of gems and welcome Steep Canyon Rangers fiddler Nicky Sanders for multiple sit-ins.
“Ain’t Life Grand” opened the first set and jammed its way to takes on fellow favorites “Bust It Big,” “All Time Low,” “I’m Not Alone,” and “Space Wrangler.” Sanders then came onstage for the first WSP performance of “Dooley,” a song by The Dillards performed on The Andy Griffith Show. Set one also featured Sanders augmenting the debut of “There Is A Time,” another Dillards song from Andy Griffith and the first half closed with John Bell leading the band’s first performance of The Andy Griffith Show theme song “The Fishin’ Hole.”
A triad of Pink Floyd covers kicked off the second set. Widespread Panic’s first take on “Have A Cigar” was followed by a bust out of “Wish You Were Here” and their “Young Lust” debut. Later in the set WSP offered their first-ever rendition of Bob Marley’s “I Shot The Sheriff” and welcomed Sanders back as they closed with “Expiration Day.” The fiddle playing guest also joined the three-song encore made up of bust outs “Journey Through The Past” and “Postcard” and the debut of Sonny Curtis’ “I Fought The Law.”
