Widespread Panic will air their June 26, 2016 performance at Red Rocks for this week’s Never Miss A Sunday Show broadcast. Official video of the final night from the band’s June 2016 three-night stand at the iconic Morrison, Colorado venue premieres this Sunday, September 6 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on the JamBase Livestreams Calendar via nugs.tv.
The sextet picked more recent fare after devoting all August Never Miss A Sunday Show installments to the old school years of 1994 – 2002. June 26, 2016 marked WSP’s 51st straight sell-out at Red Rocks and included a bevy of rarities. Widespread Panic fit 11 tour debuts into the setlist that night. Two tunes hadn’t been played in over 100 shows. Panic had “Time” on the mind towards the middle of their second set, as they performed “Time Zones” for the first time since July 2, 2014 and “Time Is Free” for the first time since January 27, 2015.
The band ended the night with an encore that began with what currently stands as their penultimate cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” Widespread Panic then said farewell with beloved classics “Postcard” and “Porch Song.”
