Widespread Panic Selects New Orleans 2008 Concert For ‘Never Miss A Sunday Show’
Widespread Panic announced their November 1, 2008 concert at UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans for the next Never Miss A Sunday Show webcast series. The show will air on Sunday, October 25 at 9:15 p.m. ET on the JamBase Livestrems Calendar via nugs.tv after the Still Right Here Todd Nance livestream tribute.
WSP’s November 1, 2008 show was their third in a four-night Halloween run that stretched over five days. The first set kicked off with “Ain’t Life Grand” and also contained the Free Somehow song “Already Fried,” which hasn’t been played since New Year’s Eve 2009 and has only been played a total of 9 times between ’08 and ‘09, as per Everyday Companion. The second set kicked off with another Free Somehow track that hasn’t been played in a decade, “Walk On The Flood, which hasn’t seen a WSP setlist since September 2011.
After “Flood,” hometown hero Ivan Neville (from opening band Dumpstaphunk) joined in on keys with tour manager Steve Lopez hopping on percussion. Neville would stay on for Funkadelic’s “Red Hot Mama.” WSP closed out the second set with “Henry Parsons Died” and the entire evening with “Pilgrims.”
