The White Stripes released their sophomore studio album, De Stijl, on June 20, 2000. Video featuring the band’s cover of “Death Letter” by Son House recorded five days before the LP dropped has been shared in honor of De Stijl’s 20th anniversary.
The rare early footage of Jack White and Meg White performing was filmed on June 15, 2000 at Jay’s Upstairs in Missola, Montana. “Death Letter” comes from “original tapes deep within the Third Man Records archives” found when compiling the label’s Vault Package #44.
