On Saturday, New Hope, Pennsylvania rockers Ween continued a three-night stand at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York. The second show of the run featured the band performing several of their songs for the first time in a number of years.
Guitarists Mickey “Dean Ween” Melchiondo and Aaron “Gene Ween” Freeman regrouped Ween back in February with drummer Claude Coleman, Jr., bassist Dave Dreiwitz and keyboardist Glenn McClelland kicked the evening off with “Transdermal Celebration.” A few songs later Ween busted out “Springtheme” for its first performance since 2010. The band then played “Touch My Tooter” before offering a take on the rarity “I Gots A Weasel” for the first time since 2009 and only the ninth time ever.
Renditions of “Doctor Rock” and “Don’t Shit Where You Eat” were followed by a bust out of “Right To The Ways And The Rules Of The World” which was just the 14th performance of the song Ween last played live in 2010. Later in the main set the Quebec track “Captain” was performed for the first time by Ween since reuniting earlier this year following a hiatus that began in 2012. “The Mollusk” served as the set closer and the encore was taken up by “Fiesta,” “Drifter In The Dark,” “Someday” and “Buenas Tardes Amigo.” Videographer LazyLightning55a captured a pair of bust outs last night, watch below:
