Weekly RecommNeds | Lumerians And Pond

Whoa! If you’re in the market for some intense, boogie-down, atom-splitting psychedelic music, you might just want to check out the newest full-length from San Francisco’s Lumerians. Each track on The High Frontier is as trippy and awesome and Technicolor as that album art. Electro-jungle beats, slamming bass and free-form melodies – this is some great shit. Enjoy!

While your brain is still wide open, may as well make some room for Pond who are out with their second mind-melter in as many years. Last year’s album was one of my inaugural RecommNeds over a year ago, so it’s only fitting that their excellent follow-up gets the go-listen-now! treatment. For the uninitiated, Pond is a Tame Impala spin-off with world-class expertise in psychedelic prog-rock. Hobo Rocket finds the band growing, tightening up the sound while finding plenty of room for freak-flag-flying. A must-listen.
