Doug Tuttle: Doug Tuttle

Hey, life goes on… Doug Tuttle came on the scene as a member of previously-RecommNed’d band Mmoss who has since broken up. Thankfully, that hasn’t stopped Tuttle from making more perfect-pitch throwback psychedelic music. Presently operating out of Boston, his first solo effort is bubbling with groovy lava-lamp worthy material. It’s a little more song-oriented, less long-form freak out than the Mmoss stuff, but it does snap, crackle and pop.

Keeping in line with the self-titled, debut of psychedelic awesomeness, I offer you Los Angeles’ Morgan Delt. With Delt, it’s time to get your freak-out on, with plenty of weird, play-this-backward-to-find-out-who-buried-Paul sound populating his own unique brand of psych rock. Equal parts Technicolor sunbeams and dark tunnels of the mind, deftly mixing lo-fi warmth and trippy production, this is an incredibly impressive first effort.
