Waterhead Benefit Concert in Macon, GA To Raise Money For Hodgkins Lymphoma

Scott Baston of Moonshine Still
The benefit concert Waterhead will be held at the Cox Capitol Theatre in Macon, GA on February 27, 2010 from 6 p.m. – midnight. The evening kicks off with a silent auction of original artwork, photography, and a variety of other items.

The band lineup for the evening will feature some of Macon’s best from the past and present, including Brass Tacks, Saint Francis, Treas in Season, Moonshine Still and a variety of special guests.

All proceeds from the evening will be donated to Jamie Waters to help with his battle against Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Jamie’s original diagnosis was a rare form of leukemia. While his change in diagnosis is relatively good news, Jamie still has a long road ahead. There are also many with leukemia and other diseases who require a bone marrow transplant for treatment. In an effort to raise awareness, a booth will be set up on site at the theatre to sign up for the bone marrow registry. All it takes is a swab from the inside of the cheek, and a little time. More information on this is available at marrow.org and jayshope.org.

Tickets for the show will be $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Advanced tickets are on sale now at The Cox Capitol Theatre or on their website. Find them on Facebook by searching Waterhead.

Any person or business who would like to make a donation for the silent auction, please see Richard Dennis at the Downtown Grill or call 478-957-9804. Or to make a monetary donation, please make checks or money orders out to The Waterhead Fund and mail to:
