A documentary about The Avett Brothers from longtime fans Judd Apatow and Michael Bonfilglio will be screened at over 250 theaters nationwide for one night only on September 12. Today, the trailer for May It Last: A Portrait Of The Avett Brothers has been released.
The band gave the filmmakers extraordinary access for more than two years. May It Last chronicles The Avett Brothers’ collaboration with Rick Rubin on the multi-Grammy-nominated 2016 album True Sadness. The filmmakers use the recording of the LP as a backdrop to chart The Avett Brothers’ rise from a ragtag crew of “self-centered hillbillies” performing in front of hundreds to a group that headlined Madison Square Garden and festivals across the country.
