Watch Previously Unreleased Widespread Panic Live Footage From 2000

On June 27, 2000 Georgia rockers Widespread Panic played a rare show “in the round” at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix. Filmmakers Geoff & Christopher Hanson were on hand to capture the performance for their documentary on the band titled The Earth Will Swallow You which would be released in 2002. Geoff Hanson recently shared incredible footage of the “Space Wrangler” opener from that special night in Phoenix.
Widespread Panic was in the middle of a magical run from Red Rocks to San Francisco that included the Phoenix show and two nights in Las Vegas. The band’s visit to Phoenix is best known for their collaboration with Taj Mahal which is featured in The Earth Will Swallow You, but they absolutely nail the “Space Wrangler” opener.
