Warren Haynes To Perform At Supergroup Tribute To 27 Club

Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Amy Winehouse, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, Kurt Cobain and Alan “Blind Owl” Wilson are musicians featured in a club no one wants to be part of -“The 27 Club” -as each lost their lives to substance abuse at the age of 27. Guitarist Warren Haynes will perform at a “27 Club Memorial Concert” featuring an all-star band at Berklee Performance Center in Boston April 4.

Haynes will be joined by Gary Hoey, Gary Cherone (Extreme, Hurt, Van Halen), Pat Badger (Extreme), David Ellefson (Megadeth), Simon Kirke (Bad Company, Free), Tony “Thunder” Smith (Lou Reed), Steve Bailey (Jethro Tull), Barry Goudreau (Boston), Woody Giessmann (Del Fuegos), Josh Kantor, Amy Fairchild, Erica Rodney and Ernie Boch Jr. for the performance. The group is expected to present covers of songs performed by members of The 27 Club. All proceeds will support Right Turn, an innovative program for drug and alcohol recovery with deep roots in the music community, offering long-term programs for men and women that combine traditional treatment with creative expression.
