Vulfpeck rolled out the hypnotic single “New Beastly.” The groovy track is the third preview of Clarity Of Cal, the band’s forthcoming album.

Clarity Of Cal marks the first new Vulfpeck album since 2022’s Schvitz and is set for release digitally on March 4 via Vulf Records. The 11-song LP was captured live during the band’s September 2024 concerts in Berkeley and Los Angeles.

“New Beastly” draws on the funky path laid down on the original “Beastly,” which was first released on Vulfpeck’s 2012 EP Mit Peck. Joe Dart's riveting bass line serves as the main melody. While the band has continually expanded their lineup, “New Beastly” was recorded by the core iteration of Dart, Woody Goss, Jack Stratton and Theo Katzman.

Katzman plays drums on the track with Dart on bass, Stratton on electric piano and Goss on woodblock. Crowd noise has been emphasized on “New Beastly” each time Woody Goss hits the cowbell.
