Vulfpeck Auctioning Track On New Album ‘The Joy Of Music, The Job Of Real Estate’
The band’s mastermind Jack Stratton explained how it works in a video on YouTube. “We are selling track 10 on the upcoming Vulfpeck album on eBay,” Stratton said. “This isn’t like the Wu-Tang thing (the band sold the only existing copy of Once Upon a Time in Shaolin for $2 million in 2015). The highest bidder will get naming rights, two minutes and 30 seconds on the album.”
“Could be a graduation thing, a birthday, a marriage proposal, a law firm ad,” Jack stated of the options. “Apple could buy it. Your band could buy it and put your song on an Vulfpeck album. This is a joyous expression. This is prime auditory real estate,” Stratton added after explaining he had to make the move after shorting Spotify stock.
