Michigan-based funk act Vulfpeck performed two times at the inaugural Fool’s Paradise festival in St. Augustine, Florida. The buzziest of buzz bands within our scene was joined by special guests both for a late night show on Friday night and for their Saturday afternoon set at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
Vulfpeck’s first Fool’s Paradise performance came late night at the Elk’s Lodge on Friday. The band was joined by a bevy of guests including vocalist Antwaun Stanley, drummer Adam Deitch, guitarist Eric Krasno, keyboardist Cory Henry (who showed off his drumming skills) and The Shady Horns’ Eric “Benny” Bloom and Ryan Zoidis. Watch fan-shot footage of Stanley leading Vulfpeck on “1612” thanks to Keith McCarty:
On Saturday, Vulfpeck presented an hour-long performance at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. The set followed a wedding ceremony on the main stage. Stanley reprised his guest role from the previous night as fronted the quartet on “Funky Duck,” “1612” and “Wait For The Moment,” while Cory Henry hopped behind the kit once again. Check out audio of the entire set which also featured “Christmas In L.A.,” “Back Pocket,” “Fugue State,” “It Gets Funkier” covers of The Band’s “Up On Cripple Creek” and “Open Your Eyes” by John Legend and more as recorded by Butch Almberg:
