Last night legendary rocker Paul McCartney returned to Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report for the show’s second hour-long special ever. Colbert engaged the former Beatle in a conversation that was both interesting and funny as Macca talked about the effect drugs had on The Beatles’ sound, the Wings Over America tour, how hard it is to remain humble in the face of massive success, recording Band On The Run in Nigeria and much more. Paul and Stephen even engaged in a brief duet.
Following Macca’s chat with Colbert, Paul strapped on a guitar to join his band for a rendition the Beatles’ classic “I’ve Just Seen A Face.” Next up was the powerful Wings rocker “Hi, Hi Hi,” which McCartney dusted off for his current tour. Speaking of songs Macca busted out for his current tour, he next treated the Colbert audience to “Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite.” Paul and his band went back to Wings’ repertoire for “Listen To What The Man Said” before finishing the massive episode with “Lady Madonna” and “Birthday.
