Videos: David Crosby & Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks Perform On ‘Live From Here’

Host Chris Thile brought his weekly radio variety show Live From Here to New York City’s Town Hall for last Saturday’s live broadcast. Video highlights have been shared from the episode featuring legendary singer-songwriter David Crosby and Portland-based rockers Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks.

Along with Crosby and Malkmus and his band, the April 14 Live From Here lineup also included comedian Janeane Garofalo andl duet partner Gaby Moreno.

The 76-year-old Crosby performed on acoustic guitar accompanied by Thile on mandolin on “Guinnevere” from the 1969 Crosby, Stills & Nash self-titled debut album. The duo also played the title track to CSN’s 1970 follow-up LP Déjà Vu. Crosby’s appearance included a solo rendition of “Naked In The Rain” which was originally recorded on the Crosby & Nash 1975 album Wind On The Water.

Malkmus and The Jicks performed several songs from their upcoming new studio album Sparkle Hard. Their appearance saw takes on “Refute,” “Solid Silk” and “Middle America,” which all appear on the forthcoming release due out on May 18. They played “Jenny & The Ess-Dog” from Malkmus’ 2001 self-titled solo album as well.
