Video | South Park Takes On Music Industry…Again

By Scott Bernstein Dec 4, 2014 3:00 pm PST

Earlier on this season of South Park, we saw Randy Marsh as his alter-ego Lorde as the show’s creators ripped on music production and the state of the music industry. On last night’s installment, Marsh donned his Lorde gear once more and had more to say about the current state of music.

As Consequence of Sound points out Marsh as Lorde participates in a “West African Gluten Crisis” benefit concert featuring pop stars Miley Cyrus, Iggy Azalea, Nicki Minaj and Michael Jackson’s hologram. Yes, a Michael Jackson hologram. When Marsh threatens to reveal his true identity, his manager unleashes a Lorde hologram to replace him. The episode takes on the trend of commentary being as important or more important than the actual music artists in the mainstream make.
