Singer-songwriter Ryan Adams and his band brought their current tour to Milwaukee’s Riverside Theatre last night, where Ryan had fun with one of the venue’s security guards. Adams improv’d a song about “the security man” who’s “gotta work all night with that yellow roller rink shirt on.”

Ryan’s security guard song also included the hilarious line “he’s probably got all records by ELO and a bong longer than my fucking arm.” Earlier in the evening Adams apologized to a female audience member for cursing, saying he doesn’t do so when he isn’t on stage. The singer-songwriter shouted out that audience member during the security song by singing, “welcome to the cussing young lady, it’s what rock and roll is for.” Ryan also worked a mention of Breaking Bad into the tune.

The other big news from last night’s show was Ryan Adams busting out the Whiskeytown classic “Yesterday’s News.” The song first appeared on Whiskeytown’s 1998 album Strangers Almanac. Here’s a clip of the tune shot by fan Stephen B:
