When Paul McCartney had some time off from filming the video for the New track “Early Days,” he took the opportunity to jam with the assembled blues musicians and Johnny Depp and has shared video of the 30-minute strumming session.

In the video below, Macca is joined by Depp, Roy Gaines, Al Williams, Dale Atkins, Henree Harris, Motown Maurice, Lil Poochie and Misha Lindes. Watch as they perform some 12-bar blues including takes on Carl Perkins’ “Matchbox,” a McCartney soundcheck staple, and plenty of other tunes:

“I happened to ring Johnny Depp. I said, ‘Come along and we’ll sit around and jam with these blues guys.’ He said, ‘Yeah, OK, count me in, man.’ I knew it was an offer he couldn’t refuse,” McCartney told Rolling Stone about how the jam session came together.
