Video | Larnell Lewis Saves A Drum Solo

Avant-funk act Snarky Puppy recently made an appearance at the Jazz à Vienne festival in Vienne, France. During a performance of their song “What About Me?” drummer Larnell Lewis staved off disaster by getting creative when things went awry as he took an energetic solo.

In the video below you can see Lewis lose one of his drumsticks as well as his splash cymbal all in one motion. Without missing a beat, the drummer deftly powered through, using another cymbal in place of his errant drumstick (which was soon returned to him by bassist Michael League).
