Video Interview | Catching Up With Sol Cat

I’ve been following a bunch of bands out of Nashville for a couple of years now and I recently sat down to interview one of those acts, Sol Cat, at SXSW. The earnestness embedded in Sol Cat’s music comes through in our chat. The interview touches upon what it’s like coming up in Nashville, a powerful area in the industry, and what that has done for them as musicians.

Sol Cat are part of a tight community of bands all working towards similar goals: being real and making music that is true to who they are. There are some lighter moments in the ten minutes of video including a segment about the house party culture, Ke$ha and Kings of Leon being puked on at house parties and a Halloween supergroup called Salvador Dali Parton created by Mumford & Sons’s Winston Marshall, featuring members of the Vaccines, Old Crow Medicine Show, JEFF the Brotherhood and Apache Relay.
