Last night in New York, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith joined Foo Fighters during their show at Citi Field. Smith emerged for a rare Foo Fighters encore, joining the band in playing a Faces cover.

After performing a set featuring songs from throughout Foo Fighters’ career as well as a smattering of covers, guitarist Dave Grohl welcomed Smith to the stage to take over drums for Taylor Hawkins who stepped forward to sing lead on “Stay With Me.” Watch Hawkins doing his best Rod Stewart next to Grohl sitting atop the pain killer inspired throne he designed jam with Smith (who even gets a solo):
