Victor Wooten & Wooten Brothers Extend US Tour Into 2024
The family outfit also released “Sweat,” the titular track off their forthcoming studio album.
The Wooten Brothers featuring renowned bassist Victor Wooten added January 2024 tour dates to an extensive trek which begins tonight (Thursday, September 28) in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Additionally, the family outfit unveiled “Sweat,” the title track from a new Wooten Brothers studio album due out in 2024.
Victor Wooten is joined in the Wooten Brothers by Béla Fleck and the Flecktones bandmate percussionist Roy “Futureman” Wooten as well as keyboardist Joseph Wooten and guitarist Regi Wooten. The tour will be the group’s first since the 2010 death of Wooten sibling Rudy, a talented saxophonist, while Sweat comes nearly 40 years after The Wooten Brothers released a self-titled studio album via Clive Davis’ Arista Records label.
“In the mid 80s, we released an album for Arista Records under the name The Wootens; but that record sounded more like the producer than it did us,” explained Victor Wooten. “For the first time since then, we are releasing an album that is totally us brothers. Get ready to SWEAT!”
