Ten years ago today Van Ghost was launched with a concert at The Metro in Chicago. Songwriter/guitarist Michael Harrison Berg, a principal at promotion company Silver Wrapper, masterminded the project which went through many lineups and variations over the years. Today, Van Ghost celebrates their 10th anniversary with the release of a track recorded at Trey Anastasio’s Barn in Vermont.
Berg was backed by The Ghost Unit version of Van Ghost for “I Can’t Hide,” a beautiful Americana track. Longtime VG member Jennifer Hartswick is among those featured on “I Can’t Hide” as are Natalie Cressman, Nick Cassarino, Chris Chew, Grant Tye, Chris Gelbuda, Rob Marscher and John Staten. Van Ghost laid down the track at The Barn in December of 2014. Ben Collette recorded “I Can’t Hide,” which was mixed, mastered and edited in Nashville last month by Greg Magers.
