Vampire Weekend Shares 1st New Music In 5 Years & 2024 North American Tour Dates

Vampire Weekend released two singles, “Capricorn” and “Gen-X Cops” — their first new studio music in five years — set to land on the band’s upcoming album, Only God Was Above Us, due out on April 5 via Columbia Records. VW also announced 2024 North American Summer Tour dates which will see Phish bassist Mike Gordon supporting on select dates among others.
Along with Mike, Vampire Weekend tapped an eclectic group of artists as support at select shows including La Lom, The English Beat, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Ra Ra Riot, Princess, Cults, Mark Ronson DJ Set, The Brothers Macklovitch and Turnstiles.
Following their previously announced solar eclipse concert in Austin and a trio of festival appearances including the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Kilby Block Party, Vampire Weekend kick off their tour proper on June 6 at 713 Music Hall in Houston. An additional Texas show in the Dallas/Fort Worth area follows.
June 9, VW will hit Phoenix en route to the West Coast ahead of stops in San Diego and Los Angeles. Two shows at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley on June 15 and 16 wrap the California run.
The band will then head up to the Vancouver area on June 18. Additional Pacific Northwest engagements include Bend (Oregon) and Seattle. Vampire Weekend will then perform two shows at the KettleHouse Amphitheater near Missoula, Montana on June 22 and 23.

After a few weeks off, VW will resume the tour at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 19. An extensive Midwest swing spanning the band’s summer and fall runs follows with stops in Kansas City, Lincoln (Nebraska), St. Louis, Chicago (two nights), Minneapolis, Milwaukee and St. Charles, Iowa’s Hinterland festival on August 3 to wrap the summer dates.
The tour resumes at Blossom Center in Cuyahoga Falls (Ohio) on September 19. Additional Midwest stops include Cincinnati, Indianapolis and the Detroit area.
VW will then head to Canada for concerts in Toronto (September 24) and the Montreal area (September 25). The band returns to the U.S. with concerts in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Charlottesville (Virginia).
Next, Vampire Weekend will perform two nights at Madison Square Garden in their native New York City on October 5 and 6. A Southeast swing follows with shows in Wilmington, (North Carolina), Raleigh, Nashville, Atlanta, Asheville (North Carolina) and St. Augustine (Florida). Vampire Weekend will come full circle to close the tour with a concert in Austin on October 17.
