HAIM & Dev Hynes Perform With Vampire Weekend At ‘Father Of The Bride’ Party

Vampire Weekend held a seven-hour, three set concert at Webster Hall in New York City featuring HAIM, Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes, live debuts and more. Yesterday’s day-long pizza-party/concert included a complete performance of the band’s recently released album Father Of The Bride.

Sunday’s first set began with The Velvet Underground’s “Sunday Morning.” The rest of the opening set was made up of Vampire Weekend originals and covers, including Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m Goin’ Down,” Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere,” Paul Simon’s “Late in the Evening” and Bob Dylan’s “Jokerman.”

Danielle Haim, who appears throughout Father Of The Bride, joined frontman Ezra Koenig at the start of the second set for “Hold You Now” and came back onstage during “Married In A Gold Rush,” “We Belong Together” and “Stranger.” All of HAIM contributed to Sunday’s performance of “This Life.” The second set ended with the FOTB closer “Jerusalem, New York, Berlin,” one of several songs from the album making its live debut on Sunday.

The third set drew from the rest of Vampire Weekend’s catalog, with their The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack contribution, “Jonathan Low,” played live for the first time. The encore kicked off with a cover of Thin Lizzy’s “The Boys Are Back in Town.” The band then played “Worship You” before bringing out Hynes to close the show with “Ya Hey.” Watch audience-shot video highlights from Webster Hall below:
