Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Valerie June today released the stripped-down “You & I” (Moon And Stars / Acoustic). The new single is a reworked take on the dreamy lead track from June’s 2021 album, The Moon & Stars: Prescriptions For Dreamers.
Last week it was announced The Moon & Stars: Prescriptions For Dreamers lead single “Call Me A Fool” has been nominated for Best American Roots Song at January’s 64th Grammy Awards. The nomination is a first for June.
“This version of the song infuses earthy instruments like banjo, fiddle, upright bass and acoustic guitar,” noted Valerie June in a press release of her new single. “‘You and I’ is a song prescribed for Sharing, Friendship, Discovery, and setting positive Intentions. Even when we think we are alone, we must trust that there is always a guide, friend, or loved one who has traveled and endured a similar experience. Together, we gain the confidence and strength needed to make it through any challenges or obstacles life may present.”
