Watch Valerie June Bring ‘Owls, Omens, And Oracles’ To Life At KEXP

The singer-songwriter also covered Lightnin’ Hopkins during the performance in Seattle.

Valerie June made a stop at KEXP radio station in Seattle while on a West Coast Tour earlier this summer. June performed a live session focused on her 2025 album, Owls, Omens, And Oracles.

Released in April, June’s fourth album was produced by M. Ward. The 14-track effort was the follow-up to June’s last full-length of original material, 2021’s The Moon and Stars: Prescriptions for Dreamers.

June was backed by Jason DiMatteo on bass, Sean Walsh on guitar, John Deley on keyboardss and Caito Sanchez on drums during the KEXP session. The performance brought to life the first three Owls, Omens, And Oracles tracks, “All I Really Wanna Do,” “Joy, Joy!” and “Endless Tree.”

June, who also spoke to KEXP DJ Cheryl Waters, capped the set with a cover of Lightnin’ Hopkins’ “Life I Used To Live.” Watch the full performance and interview below:
