Chicago sextet Umphrey’s McGee helped close out this year’s Wanee Music Festival at The Spirit Of The Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, Florida with a late night set on Saturday. As promised, UM performed multiple mashups during the festival-closing set.

Umphrey’s McGee’s main set was bookended by portions of “JaJunk.” The front end of “JaJunk” led into “2×2” ahead of the first of three mashups, “Come As You Are Kids” which mixes “Kids” [MGMT], “Come As You Are” [Nirvana] and “You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)” [Dead Or Alive]. “Come As You Are Kids” had not been performed since October 17, 2014. Later in the set, Umphrey’s unearthed mashup “Frankie Zombie” for the first time this year. “Frakie Zombie” mixes “Thunder Kiss ’65” [White Zombie], + “Relax” [Frankie Goes to Hollywood] + “Have A Cigar” [Pink Floyd].

The evening’s final mashup was also another 2016 debut, “Bitter Sweet Haji” which mixes UM original “Hajimemashite” and “Bitter Sweet Symphony” [The Verve]. “Hangover” served as Umphrey’s encore on Saturday night. Next up for Umphrey’s is a trip to Texas and Oklahoma that includes shows on Wednesday at the House Of Blues in Houston and at Stubb’s in Austin on Friday.

Elsewhere at the Wanee on Saturday, the Gregg Allman Band was joined by former Allman Brothers Band guitarists Warren Haynes for “Dreams” and Jack Pearson for “Southbound,” while Karl Denson collaborated with Melvin Seals & JGB and Widespread Panic busted out a cover of Talking Heads’ “Swamp” for the first time since October 17, 2014.
