Umphrey’s McGee Dusts Off Ween Cover In Athens

Umphrey’s McGee performed their second of three shows at the Georgia Theatre in Athens, Georgia on Friday night. UM busted out Ween’s “Transdermal Celebration” toward the end of the first set for just the fifth time ever since debuting the song in 2015 and the first time in over two years.
Umphrey’s kicked things off with “The Silent Type” followed by “No Diablo” and “Hurt Bird Bath.” “Night Nurse” then led into “Mail Package” ahead of “Transdermal” and the first set closer “Puppet String.”
UM got the second set underway with “Nothing Too Fancy” before heading into “Hangover.” “Looks” followed ahead of “FF” which segued into “Conduit” before returning to “Nothing Too Fancy” to bookend the second set. Umphrey’s McGee retook the stage for an encore of David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance,” which is, interestingly enough, one of the few songs Ween has covered in the past.
