Umphrey’s McGee Previews ‘Reel To Real,’ Shares Acoustic ‘Plunger’ Clip

As previously reported, Umphrey’s McGee will present their first-ever “Reel To Real” event at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver, Colorado on New Year’s Day. Today, the band has previewed the event, which is a benefit for Conscious Alliance, by sharing an acoustic version of “Plunger” that ends with the members of UM telling the story behind the song.

Reel To Real will consist of two components: one in which Team UM premieres “a visual journey into the early touring years of the band” – aka Reel – and a second which will feature a set of original music accompanied by the stories behind them – aka Real. On March 16, 2012 Umphrey’s presented a “True Hollywood Stories” performance in L.A. that will be similar to the “Real” portion of the New Year’s Day event.
