Umphrey’s McGee To Play All-Improv Set At Upcoming Show

On January 28, 2016 Umphrey’s McGee delivered a second set unlike any set that they had played in the past. The band performed an all-improv set that night at the Orpheum Theater in Madison, Wisconsin and did so again later in the year at UMBowl VII. Umphrey’s will reprise the feat later this month.
The second set of Umphrey’s McGee’s upcoming performance at the State Theatre in Portland, Maine on January 27 will be entirely improvised. UM’s all-improv set in Madison last January featured special guest Joshua Redman on saxophone. Redman will also sit-in with the band in Portland. Tickets are currently available via Ticketmaster.
