Umphrey’s McGee Debuts ‘Dark Brush’ At Whigfest

Umphrey’s McGee headlined the 2018 Whigfest Music & Arts Festival in Tampa, Florida on Sunday. Their performance at the Cuban Club in Ybor City featured the debut of “Dark Brush,” an original included on their recently issued studio album it’s not us.

UM teamed with Tampa’s Rock Brothers Brewing to create Dark Brush Imperial Stout, a small batch beer brewed in conjunction with 7venth Sun Brewing and Hidden Springs Ale Works. Restricted to a run of 1,500 22-ounce bottles, the limited release was made available for the first time at Whigfest.

The last of six originals not played live prior to inclusion on it’s not us, “Dark Brush” made its debut as the second song of the second set Sunday night. Introduced by bassist Ryan Stasik while championing the new brew made with coffee, chocolate and cherries, guitarist Jake Cinninger took charge of first-time performance.
