Umphrey’s McGee’s Brendan Bayliss Covers ‘Imagine’

Umphrey’s McGee guitarist Brendan Bayliss shared a solo piano cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine.” The band posted a message accompanying the video that addressed the recent nationwide protests in response to the death of George Floyd.

Umphrey’s McGee’s statement reads:

We have long worked to build a community where all feel welcome, a place to come together, focusing on what binds us rather than what divides us. As we struggle to understand what the future of live music will look like, we recognize our concerns come from a place of great privilege. Our amps may be silent, but our voices are not.

Equality must not be political.

We need change.
