Umphrey’s McGee rolled through The Fillmore in Miami on Friday night. UM would bust out a “Bittersweet Haj” for the South Beach crowd for the first time in over three years and 306 shows to close out the second set. The mashup of The Verve’s “Bittersweet Symphony” and UM’s “Hajimemashite” last made an appearance at the Wanee Festival in 2016 and the Miami rendition was just the sixth time played overall since its debut on Halloween 2010.

Umphrey’s kicked things off with “Goonville” which led into “Crucial Taunt.” “Looks” in turn would segue into “Breaker” ahead of “Morning Song.” “Preamble” would kick off a continuous block that included “Mantis,” with Jake Cinninger on keys and then the band played a cover of Billy Joel’s “The Stranger” before returning to “Mantis” to close out the first frame.

UM got the second set underway with “Roctopus” ahead of “Linear” and “Example 1.” A “JaJunk” sandwich followed with “Push The Pig” in the middle. “Night Nurse” contained a “Late In The Evening” (Paul Simon) jam which led into “Bittersweet Haj” to close out the second set. Umph would retake the stage for an encore of “The Triple Wide” which featured the ending to Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway To Heaven” to close out the evening.
