Shortly after Umphrey’s McGee concluded a Friday night show in Albany, the band’s bassist Ryan Stasik and drummer Kris Myers teamed with Aqueous guitarist Mike Gantzer for a late-night set at Pearl Street Pub. The trio performed tunes from Green Day’s 1993 album Dookie and other rock hits.
The video below features 90 minutes of music from the night captured by Zak Radick starting with Green Day’s “Chump” and “Longview.” Next came a triple dose of Ween covers in “The Grobe,” “It’s Gonne Be A Long Night” and “Transdermal Celebration” before it was back to Dookie for a series of songs that included “Basket Case” and “Pulling Teeth.” The trio honored Nirvana with “Drain You” and then proceeded through “Sassafras Roots,” “When I Come Around” and “Coming Clean” from Dookie.
Stasik, Myers and Gantzer didn’t stick solely to the ’90s, as they covered “I Wanna Be Sedated” and “Blitzkrieg Bop” by The Ramones towards the middle of the set. More Dookie followed along with Weezer’s “My Name Is Jonas,” “Say It Ain’t So” and “Undone – The Sweater Song.” Green Day’s “Brain Stew” came next with Fugazi’s “Bad Mouth” leading into the “Geek Stink Breath” finale.
