Umphrey’s McGee Adds New Twist To Halloween Weekend Webcasts
By Scott Bernstein Oct 24, 2017 • 11:46 am PDT

This weekend Umphrey’s McGee will celebrate Halloween with a pair of shows at the Palace Theatre in St. Paul, Minnesota on Friday, October 27 and Saturday, October 28. If you can’t make it to UM’s Halloween celebrations in person, there’s an option to watch from home or wherever you have an internet connection and this time there’s an intriguing twist.
Umphrey’s McGee fans will not only be able to watch livestreams via TourGigs of both shows, but the weekend will also feature an interesting opportunity for UM VR users. Versions of the webcasts using the virtual reality platform Endless Riff will allow viewers to choose between Halloween-themed avatars and more while taking in the show together. The livestream will take place in Endless Riff’s “Endless Ballroom” venue and is only available on the Endless Riff platform via an Oculus Rift headset. For more information on getting Endless Riff and viewing content head here.
Of course, regular ol’ webcasts featuring HD video and soundboard video are options as well. Both streams will include Sinkane’s opening sets starting at 8 p.m. CT with UM set to play their first of two sets each nigh at 9:15 p.m. CT. As usual, replays of both shows will be on-demand for two weeks. Umphrey’s traditionally unveils mashups at their Halloween celebrations, but this year they will not and instead will unveil a unique theme.
