Ultraviolet Hippopotamus To Take Grand Pause

After five years of averaging between 150 and 175 shows each year, Grand Rapids, MI based five-piece Ultraviolet Hippopotamus are in need of a break. The band has announced that they will begin an indefinite hiatus they’ve described as a “grand pause” following a pair of shows in December.

Ultraviolet Hippopotamus’s statement makes it clear they will not break up and that today’s announcement “is by no means the end.” The group has seven appearances planned before beginning the break including a performance tonight at Shoe Fest in Manteno, IL; a hometown show at The Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI on December 5 and a gig at The Vogue in Indianapolis on December 6.
