Muppet Pull ’24: Kermit The Frog Joins Tyler Childers At Madison Square Garden

Tyler Childers brought his Mule Pull ’24 Tour to New York City last night for his first of two shows at Madison Square Garden. Childers was accompanied by special guest Kermit The Frog on the final song of his solo acoustic section of the night and the first tune of the final full band portion of the concert.

Tuesday’s concert was originally scheduled for Thursday, May 30 but was moved to accomodate a New York Rangers playoff game. Tyler Childers delivered a 24-song performance at his Madison Square Garden debut last night featuring tunes from throughout his career along with a few choice covers and a rendition of “Happy Birthday To You” sung in honor of his mother.

Kermit The Frog emerged at the end of Childers’ four-song acoustic interlude to duet with Tyler on “Lady May.” The Muppet traded verses with Tyler on the love song Childers wrote about his now-wife Senora May.

“Let’s get the boys back out here,” Childers exclaimed after “Lady May” and welcomed his band The Food Stamps back to the stage. Kermit The Frog stuck around to perform “Movin’ Right Along” from 1979’s The Muppet Movie with Tyler Childers and The Food Stamps. “Movin’ Right Along” was a debut for Childers who again shared lead vocal duties with Kermit The Frog.
