Twiddle Welcomes Brass For Talking Heads Cover & More In Boston

Twiddle brought their Distance Makes The Heart Tour to the House Of Blues Boston on Saturday. The Vermont-born quartet was joined by West End Blend trumpeter Mike Bafundo and Duochrome trombonist Brian Thomas at various points of the concert.

Twiddle launched the first set with the staple “Stroganoff” followed by the vintage “Honeyburste.” The relatively new song “Mushrooms Of The Sea” led into the oldie “Doinkinbonk!!!,” which encompassed a cover of “Girlfriend Is Better.” Bafundo made his first appearance of the evening on the Talking Heads classic. Following “The Fantastic Tale Of Ricky Snickle,” Bafundo and Thomas helped Twiddle close out the first frame with “Polluted Beauty.”

The horns joined the quartet to start the second set with “Lost In The Cold” and would stick around for “Orlando’s.” The brass departed as Twiddle headed into “Dr. Remidi’s Melodium” before finishing up “Orlando’s.” A pairing of fan-favorites “Beethoven & Greene” and “Frankenfoote” concluded the second frame. Twiddle capped the concert with “Beautiful” into “Every Last Leaf II,” which saw Bafundo make an encore appearance.
