Turkuaz shared the video for their single “Heat Drop.” The song appears on the Brooklyn-based funk outfit’s 2019 EP Kuadrochrome, which arrived on November 22.
Turkuaz released “Heat Drop” on November 19 just before Kuadrochrome dropped. The song and record see the band trading their rainbow color scheme for black, white, grey and tan, evident in the video for “Heat Drop.”
“This video gives a glimpse into the meaning of the song,” shared Turkuaz frontman, Dave Brandwein. “I seem to enjoy tackling some darker issues and themes in our lyrics to contrast the upbeat and fun vibe often found in the music. This song and video are no exception. The ‘Heat Drop’ refers to anger and rage getting the best of our protagonist (in this video, and often in life—the protagonist is me). These feelings slowly but surely emerge from within, to become a towering beast who won’t be happy until I’m dead! It’s fun for the whole family!”
