Turkuaz Covers The New Mastersounds In New Collaborative Video

Brooklyn-based funk band Turkuaz and Britain’s The New Mastersounds kicked off a co-headlining Fall Tour last night in Fort Collins, Colorado. Today, the two bands have shared a collaborative video of a performance of “On The Border” by The New Mastersounds.

In addition to the tour and video, the pair of groups have also issued an tour-only split 7-inch single featuring collaborative covers – including the one featured in the video – of each other’s songs that will be released digitally on October 14. Filmed at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California, the video showcases the nine-piece Turkuaz collective joined by half of The New Mastersounds as guitarist Eddie Roberts and keyboardist Joe Tatton get in on the action on a rendition of the track from the Mastersounds’ album Breaks From The Border.

The co-headlining tour’s opening run through Colorado continues tonight with a show in Boulder at the Boulder Theater.
