Turkuaz unveiled an acoustic performance of “Desert Island” from their January set for the Sugarshack Sessions video series. “Desert Island” is the fourth song shared from the powerhouse funk outfit’s rare unplugged performance that took place in Miami ahead of the band’s appearance on Jam Cruise.

The band originally recorded “Desert Island” for their self-titled 2011 debut studio album. Unplugged performances of “Life In The City,” “The Question” and “European Festivity Nightmare” were previously shared.

“We were hesitant to do this at first when we were told it was an ‘unplugged’ session,” said guitarist/vocalist Dave Brandwein. “Our live show is very loud, in-your-face, and most of all, ELECTRIC! – in every sense of the word. But it ended up being an inspiring challenge and opportunity for us to do something totally new.”
